Getting started

What Paper Planes does

Paper Planes is an iPhone share-sheet assistant. You share content into it, and it shows what matters and proposes meaningful next steps as cards you can act on, save, or discuss.

Download and sign in

Download Paper Planes from the App Store, then sign in with Apple. Your app session comes from Sign in with Apple and is validated by our backend before the app can use protected features.

Find Act on Paper Planes in the share sheet

In any app, tap Share, then scroll the app row and tap More to enable Act on Paper Planes. Once enabled it appears in your share sheet alongside your other apps.

What you can share

You can share supported content including links and web pages, articles and posts, selected or copied text, product, hotel, travel, and market pages, and supported files and audio. Some sources that require a login or block access may not be readable.

Analyses & cards

Why a share may return different cards

The result depends on the content, the question that content implies, the sources available, your permissions, and provider availability. Not every share produces every card.

Why some deeper results take longer

Longer research branches can continue after the first result and update when ready. This usually takes a little longer than the initial analysis.

When content is unsupported or inaccessible

If a source requires a login, blocks automated access, or is an unsupported format, Paper Planes tells you plainly. You can try sharing the text directly or a different link.

Reopen saved results in History

Completed analyses are saved in History. Open any past result to review the original shared content and its cards, continue relevant actions, or start a discussion from it.

AI-generated results can be incomplete or wrong and should be checked. Paper Planes provides context and possible next steps — not financial, legal, medical, travel, or purchasing advice.

Premium & billing

What Free includes

Free includes five lifetime analyses. After your analysis allowance is used, you can still save shared URLs or content for discussion and continue participating in discussions, subject to fair-use and safety limits.

What Premium includes

Premium includes higher analysis usage each month, deeper research cards, and audio transcription. See the Premium page for details.

How to purchase Premium

Purchase Premium inside the app. Monthly and annual plans are billed through your Apple ID using the App Store.

Restore purchases

If you reinstall the app or switch devices, open Profile and tap Restore Purchases to restore an active subscription tied to your Apple ID.

Manage or cancel your subscription

Manage or cancel through Apple: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Paper Planes, and make your change. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside Paper Planes.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Paper Planes cannot issue App Store refunds directly.

Deleting your account does not cancel Premium

Account deletion and App Store subscription cancellation are separate. Deleting your Paper Planes account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription — cancel the subscription through Apple as well.

When a monthly limit is reached

When you reach a monthly usage limit, that allowance resets at the start of your next billing period. You can still open saved results and take part in discussions in the meantime.

Audio

Transcription requires Premium

Audio transcription is a Premium feature. Share supported audio and Paper Planes produces a transcript first.

Analyze a transcript

Analyzing a transcript is a separate step. After the transcript is ready, you can choose to run an analysis on it.

Limits

File-size, format, and usage limitations may apply. Not every audio format is supported.

Discussions

Start a discussion from a saved analysis

Open a saved analysis in History and start a direct or group discussion from it. The source and analysis stay attached to the thread.

Direct vs group discussions

Direct discussions are with one other person. Group discussions include several participants. You can attach one or more saved analyses to a thread where supported.

Messages, reactions, participants, and notifications

Send text messages, add reactions, add or remove participants where permissions allow, rename a discussion, and set per-discussion notification preferences.

Contact matching and phone verification

Verifying a phone number can help you find and connect with people you know. Contacts access is optional and requested only when a feature needs it.

Report a message or discussion

You can report inappropriate messages or discussion activity from inside the thread. Only people with access to a discussion can see its linked content.

Block or unblock someone

You can block a person to stop further contact, and unblock them later, from the discussion or your profile.

Account & privacy

Sign in with Apple

Production accounts use Sign in with Apple. Your session is validated by our backend before the app can use protected features.

Optional phone verification

You may verify a phone number to help find or connect with people. This is optional.

Contacts and location permissions

Contacts and location access are contextual and optional. Paper Planes asks only when a feature needs them, and you can decline.

AI and search processing

AI and external search services may process shared content when you use those features. You decide what you share, one item at a time.

Delete your account

You can delete your Paper Planes account from inside the app: open Profile, then choose Delete account and confirm. This removes your account per our Privacy Policy. Remember that deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that separately through Apple.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are publicly available.
